Chris has 3 granola bars, he gives Kelly 2 granola bars. How many does he have left?
First you start with 3 granola bras. Then you take 2 aways, in the end you are left with 1 granola bar. 3-2=1
- Multiplication Example:
Michelle has 3 dogs. She doubles the amount of dogs she has after buying more. How many does does she have now?
Start with 3 dogs. Then add 3 more, in the end she has 6 dogs all together. 3x2=6
- Division Example:
Kate has 12 peices of gum. She gives away 1/3. How many pieces dis she give away?
You start with 12 peice of gum. Then you spilt it up into 3 even section. If she gave one section with is equivalint to 1/3. Their for she gave away 4 peices of gum. 12/3=4
